2021.10.27 13:24 GrandpaSnail How much do you tell your players about a room at first glance...
...versus upon closer inspection?
Do you lead your players by describing one thing in particular detail, or do you give a flat descriptions of all the items and features in a room, and wait for them to ask about/inspect each?
Curious to see how y'all approach this.

2021.10.27 13:24 BackyardBuddhaGaming Crowspeak Trait Idea + Crow Overhaul
Way too often have I been roaming across the Bayou and stumble upon a flock of like 9 crows just chilling.
Then they scatter in l directions and my teammates hear an auditory:
Escape my lips.
I think it would be really dope if the Crows had a little overhaul…
As soon you enter a flock of crows outermost radius of detection they give a distinct and loud chirp to let you know they see you.
Right now, I’m usually not aware of them until I’m right on time of them.
This has happened even when I’m running stealth loadouts, walking or crouching most of the time.
(Example: They’re sitting on a fence or gate and I’m moving through a bush and bam they get set off.)
If you keep approaching, they chirp again and finally, right before you’re about to trigger them, they give one final distinctive chirp to let you know if you don’t crouch and back off NOW they’re going to get spooked.
I believe this would be more helpful.
Also, having the noise they make be 10 - 20% more audible across the map and possibly having the animation of them leaving in the air be 10 - 20% slower would be helpful.
Lastly, I have an idea for a new trait!
How it works?
Anytime a Hunter disturbs a flock of crows, you get an audible cue letting you know this has occurred and an icon appears on your map over the position the crows were disturbed that hovers for 10 - 15 seconds.
I think this would be a good tracking trait!
What do you think? Would you like to see it? Why or why not?
P.S. Please be kind and considerate.

2021.10.27 13:24 QuantumKumquat0 There is a job fair currently going on at my uni, but I do not have a resume or done any research on the companies there whatsoever. What is my best course of action?
I’m only a sophomore, so it’s not really a high priority thing I go, but I was hoping to be able to find an internship either this semester or next. The way I see it, this is my best shot. I have ~5 hours until they finish up. Advice?
(discipline is mechanical if that’s relevant)

I have a nasty cold right now(yes I got tested, it's not COVID) and I'm eating a chicken parm hero for lunch and wow, totally giving me some life here. I feel like a bowl of linguine in red sauce would do wonders too.

2021.10.27 13:24 willochill Using Master Volume vs. LUFS to determine master level of track?
I hope this is not a stupid question. I'm new to mastering and learning how to level my tracks so that they are the appropriate level for streaming services. However, there's one thing that I'm still really not understanding about the whole process, and that's this. Most resources will tell you that in order to accurately measure the master level of a track (aka the level of a track once it is exported to a file and sent to streaming services), you should use a limiter and pay attention to LUFS of a track. However, this confuses me because if I put a limiter on my master track, then adjust my track to however many LUFS I want it, then export the track, ultimately the level of the audio that is exported is not determined by that limiter on the master... but the level that I set using the "master volume" fader on the master track! And that is not even LUFS, but typically Peak or RMS!! For example, if I put a limiter on my master and adjust it to -14LUFS, but set my master volume way up/down, now the output of the track is not even gonna be the same LUFS reading as is on the limiter, but adjusted for the master volume! If this is the case, then why do people speak about mastering a track to a certain LUFS using a limiter, when ultimately the master volume is what dictates to overall level of the track?
